{"id":170,"date":"2026-02-25T16:43:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-25T15:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nextlevelleadership.hu\/?p=170"},"modified":"2026-04-17T15:01:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T13:01:52","slug":"future-ready-skills-a-worthwhile-investment-for-leaders-and-organisations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nextlevelleadership.hu\/en\/jovoallo-keszsegek-megterulo-befektetes-vezetoknek-szervezeteknek\/","title":{"rendered":"Future-ready skills \u2013 An investment for leaders and organisations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"margin-top:2rem\">The question every leader faces today<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:1.5rem\">Many of us wonder what skills we will truly need to thrive as leaders, professionals and individuals in today\u2019s fragile, non-linear and fast-changing, ever-evolving world \u2013 especially in the midst of the current technological explosion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advancement of artificial intelligence, the pace of digitalisation and the increasingly rapid economic cycles pose challenges that cannot be addressed solely with spreadsheets, models or proven approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This raises the question of what AI cannot replace. What cannot be automated? Which leadership skills provide long-term competitiveness not only at the individual level, but also at the organisational level?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"margin-top:3rem\">Skills that will become increasingly valuable in the future<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:1.5rem\" class=\"translation-block\">On this topic, I have recently read the book<a href=\"https:\/\/www.simonandschuster.com\/books\/Tomorrowmind\/Gabriella-Rosen-Kellerman\/9781982159764\" target=\"_self\"> Tomorrowmind,<\/a> in which the authors identify several key areas based on research. These are the skills worth consciously developing in the years ahead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Resilience<\/strong> \u2013 the capacity to adapt to unexpected situations and remain steady under pressure.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Interpersonal skills<\/strong> \u2013 building value-based, effective relationships with clients, colleagues and fellow leaders.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Foresight<\/strong> \u2013 recognising possible future scenarios, gathering alternatives and weighing them deliberately.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Innovation and creativity<\/strong> \u2013 generating new ideas that are not only original, but meaningful and useful for a community or organisation.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-top:0;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\"><strong>Mattering<\/strong> \u2013 understanding what truly matters to us, what motivates us, and how we can engage in activities that are aligned with those values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"margin-top:3rem;margin-right:0rem;margin-bottom:0rem;margin-left:0rem\">Why consciously investing time in these pays off<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:1.5rem;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\">These are often referred to as \u2018soft\u2019 skills; however, they carry significant and measurable potential for impact at both the individual and organisational levels. They have a meaningful impact not only on performance, but also on the quality of decision-making, collaboration and long-term sustainability.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:1.5rem;margin-right:0;margin-bottom:0;margin-left:0\">The good news is that these skills can be developed \u2013 even within a relatively short period of time. The book demonstrates, also based on robust research, that coaching is one of the most effective forms of development which does not give advice, but foster structured thinking, intentional action and better decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a leadership perspective, these skills are long-term drivers of competitiveness. As a coach, I think that they truly develop when you consciously devote time, attention and energy to them.
